Exports are a good way to increase business revenue in the Philippines. Once approved to export, businesses will have the means to supply commodities and goods to foreign entities, once the opportunity arises. Furthermore, considering strict export protocols, being granted permits to export reflects a business’ excellent product quality and operational capacities.

But what are these permits in the first place? How do they differ from the permits needed to import? We’ll discuss this in more detail below.

Supplementary Requirements

Philippine government agencies must monitor the movement of goods and commodities under their responsibility. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), for instance, must ensure that all ingestible goods meet international standards for safety and quality before they are exported. Many other agencies share the same regulatory task.

These are the goods that need agency-issued permits for exportation:

  • Food and beverages
  • Electronics
  • Chemicals
  • Drugs and other pharmaceutical products
  • Telecommunication equipment
  • Tobacco products
  • Dangerous goods
  • Live plants and animals
  • Mineral products
  • Automotives and other motor vehicles

Your preferred customs broker will know exactly what permits are needed to export the above-mentioned goods. Some of these permits can take months to be processed and released to the applicant. Be sure to communicate your exportation plans to your customs broker in advance.

Choosing the Right Logistics Partner for Exporting

As Philippine exports represent the country’s product quality, getting all the permits needed to make exportation possible might pose a challenge. Exportation requests are reviewed strictly and thoroughly, and not all applicants are granted the privilege to export their products abroad.

Once all permits are obtained, however, all you will need is a trustworthy logistics partner who can bring your products anywhere. A good logistics solutions provider will provide all the services you need, whether it be air freight, sea freight, customs brokerage, or road transport. Once your goods are ready for exporting, your logistics partner must be ready to arrange the shipment from local pickup to international delivery.

Finding the perfect logistics partner for your business can be tricky. Logistics services are usually high-value, and you’ll want to make sure that you’re getting your money’s worth. Invest in a logistics service provider with proven expertise in the solutions you need, and exporting will be as easy as it can be, with little to no hassle.
